Hi! I'm an audio producer, journalist and feature writer based in Toronto. I work with CBC Podcasts and CBC Radio. Most of the time I focus on reported longform narratives about complex issues.

My audio work has won some awards (including a Webby Award, New York Festivals Radio Award, Signal Award and an Australian Podcast Award). My longform and investigative magazine writing has been nominated for some awards too, including two National Magazine Awards (Best Investigative Reporting, and Best Longform Feature) and a James Beard Media Award. I’ve also been a finalist for the APTN/CAJ Reconciliation Award. Last year, I was a showrunner with CBC Podcasts and our show was selected by The Atlantic as one of the 35 Best Podcasts of 2022.

I have ten years of experience as an audio producer (podcast, documentary, public radio), journalist and feature writer. I’ve worked with CBC Podcasts, CBC Radio, BBC Radio 4, NPR One, and elsewhere. I’ve also taught podcasting and audio documentary at Toronto Metropolitan University’s journalism school, and I was the founding associate editor of The Conversation Canada. My audio work and writing have been assigned in university classes on audio and creative non-fiction writing.

I started my journalism career recording from ice cream trucks in Scotland in the winter.
